Our house is appoximately 150 feet away from the pole the connections are made on. On our appointment day, the installer arrives and I asked him again if it was possible to have 2 separate HD DRV boxes in the same household and he said "it should be find". After he worked on our house for 11 1/2 hours (no this is not a typo) he informed us that we couldn't have 2 HD DVR Boxes. So, he asked us what we wanted to do, and I informed him that he could remove all of his equipment and reconnect us to Dish. It took our installer approximately 1/2 hour to remove all the equipment that took 11 1/2 hours to install. He left our wiring a mess, with wire nuts connecting all the wires he cut during his installation. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS SERVE TO MY WORSE ENEMY. The sales people are only trying to make commission and the installers are all new and not trained well enough to be out on their own. Our installer was here from Georgia and had a couple of days training before being sent out on his own. We could not be more disappointed with AT & T and I forgot to mention that after all of this our AT & T DSL internet services hasn't worked properly since the Uverse installation. After spending numerous (15+ hours) on the telephone with support on many occations, we still have terrible DSL service. I was willing to sacrifice a little to get a better channel lineup than Comcast. However, when they called me back to tell me I could only get 1 HD stream, it just made me realize how ridiculous this infrastructure that AT&T came up with is. I honestly wanted this install to work. I wanted them to tell me 2 HD streams wouldn't be a problem. But, oh well, now I have to stick it out with Comcast in hopes they improve their service.
